Free Easter Chick's Crochet Pattern With Written and Video Instructions.
The only thing better than one little chicken is 6 little chickens!!! These cute little guys would make the perfect gift, especially around Easter time.
-MATERIALS-
· DK yarn in yellow, white, black, and orange
· 3.5mm crochet hook
· Embroidery needle and scissors
· Toy stuffing
-ABBREVIATIONS-
· Magic Loop (I chain two and crochet into first loop to create ring)
· CH – Chain
· ST – Stitch
· SL ST – Slip stitch
· SK ST – Skip stitch
· SC – Single crochet
· HDC – Half double crochet
· DC – Double crochet
· SC2TOG – Single crochet two together
· SC3TOG – Single crochet three together
· HDC2TOG – Half double crochet two together
· DC2TOG – Double crochet two together
· JOIN and FO – SL ST into next ST, chain one, cut yarn
· FO- Fasten off
· FLO – Front loops only
· BLO – Back loops only
· T – Turn

Egg Shells – make 2 with white yarn.
1. CH2, 6SC into the 2nd CH from hook {6}
2. 2SC into every ST around {12}
3. (SC1, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {18}
4. (SC5, 2SC into the next ST) 3 times {21}
5. (SC6, 2SC into the next ST) 3 times {24}
6. (SC7, 2SC into the next ST) 3 times {27}
7. (SC8, 2SC into the next ST) 3 times {30}
8-11. SC around {30}
12. IN FLO, SL ST *CH3, SL ST into the 3rd CH from hook, SL ST into next 2 STS* Repeat ** around.
Join and FO.
Chicks – make with yellow yarn.
Join yellow yarn in the back looks left from round 12 of shells.
1. IN FLO SC around {30}
2-4. SC around {30}
5. (SC8, SC2TOG) 3 times {27}
6. (SC7, SC2TOG) 3 times {24}
7. (SC6, SC2TOG) 3 times {21}
8. (SC5, SC2TOG) 3 times {18}
9. (SC1, SC2TOG) 6 times {12}
Join and FO.
Stuff Chick.
With yarn tail pick up the front loops only of the remaining 12 stitches, then pull tight to close.
With black yarn sew on eyes.
Beak – make with orange yarn.
1. CH2, 6SC into the 2nd CH from hook {6}
2. SC around {6}
3. (SC1, 2SC into the next ST) 3 times {9}
Join and FO.
Pin and sew into place on chick.
Wings – make 2 with yellow yarn.
1. CH3, 2SC into the 2nd and 3rd CH from hook, CH1, T {4}
2. 2SC into the 1st ST, SC2, 2SC into the last ST, CH1, T {6}
3-4. SC across, CH1, T {6}
5. SC2TOG, SC2, SC2TOG, CH1, T {4}
6. (SC2TOG) twice {2}
7. SC around entire piece.
Join and FO.
Pin and sew on either side of chick.
