Peacock Motif Crochet Pattern

Free Peacock Motif Crochet Pattern With Written and Video Instructions.

I am so in love with this design, its so bold and colourful, plus they are so easy to make!


Peacock colours are so popular at the minute and paired with the tassels this jewellery set is a must have!


-MATERIALS -

· 3.5mm crochet hook

· DK yarn in teal, magenta, gold, navy and green

· Darning needle and scissors

· Earring hooks

· Necklace


-ABBREVIATIONS-

· Magic Loop (I chain two and crochet into first loop to create ring)

· CH – Chain

· ST – Stitch

· SL ST – Slip stitch

· SK ST – Skip stitch

· SC – Single crochet

· HDC – Half double crochet

· DC – Double crochet

· SC2TOG – Single crochet two together

· JOIN and FO – SL ST into next ST, chain one, cut yarn

· FO- Fasten off

· T – Turn


-PATTERN NOTES-

· Pattern written using American terminology.

· Video Tutorial can be found at the end of written pattern.

· Hook stitch – Insert your hook into any stitch at the bottom of your motif from back to front, pull the middle of the 3 strands through about 2cm, pass the tails of the yarn through the loop you have created and pull tight.

Peacock Motif – make 3, begin with Navy.

1. CH2, 6SC into 2nd CH from hook {6}

2. 2SC into each ST (12)

Change to Teal yarn.

3. (SC1, 2SC into next ST) 6 times {18}

4. (SC2, 2SC into next ST) 6 times {24}

Change to Pink yarn.

5. (SC3, 2SC into next ST) 6 times {30}

Change to Gold yarn.

6. SC4, 2SC into the next ST, SC4, 2HDC into the next ST, (DC4, 2DC into the next ST) twice, DC4, 2HDC into the next ST, SC4, 2SC into the next ST {36}

Change to Green yarn.

7. SC5, 2SC into the next ST, SC5, 2HDC into the next ST, (DC5, 2DC into the next ST) twice, DC5, 2HDC into the next ST, SC5, 2SC into the next ST {42}

Join and FO.

Cut 18, 12” pieces of Green yarn.

Using 3 pieces at a time, fold the strands in half and hook stitch them into the bottom of the motif 6 times, leave a stitch between each tassel.


For Earrings –

Open clasp on the bottom of the earrings and insert into the top of motif, close clasp tight with pliers.


For Necklace –

With tail left from the last round of Green, CH1 around the necklace chain to secure into place.
